About the Artist A native of Thailand, Ladda Bihler has been designing and creating custom made jewelry for over 20 years. Ladda first came to the US in 1975 and eventually made her way down to Austin, Texas. She opened a small store selling jewelry, clothing, and goods during the week and at arts and crafts show on the weekends. At a local show, Ladda befriended a goldsmith who saw within her a drive to learn the craft. After learning the fundamentals of metal work and mastering the basics, she soon set out to develop her skills and design style. Using the simplest of tools, Ladda creates Sterling Silver and Gold-filled jewelry from sheets of metal, wires, beads, and semi-precious stones. Ladda's environmental surrounding is the basis of her design inspirations. While each original piece is meticulously hand-crafted, the finished work of art takes its own life as Ladda designs as she goes. Ladda’s work continues to be well received and praised not only by many satisfied customers worldwide, but by fellow artisans alike.
